Just making an observation... but were there teachers involved in the lobbying? My understanding from working in the public education system myself is that lobbying while on taxpayers' time (e.g. not taking a personal, sick, or vacation day) is stepping over the line. I could be wrong because those ethics manuals on the state's website are pretty confusing and vague in many areas.
